Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of George Oliver in Wed., Jan. 8, 1969 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) George Oliver, Used Car Lot Manager, Dies George Oliver, 63, manager of the Oliver Chevrolet used car lot here, died suddenly at his home Monday evening after suffering a heart attack. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. from the Hyllegren Funeral chapel with burial to be in Nora cemetery. Friends may call this evening at the funeral chapel. Mr. Oliver was born Dec. 10, 1905 at Cedar Lake Township and was married June 10, 1926 to Alice John. They lived at Sterling, Ill. until 1942 when they moved to a farm just east of Campia. He farmed there for 13 years and then owned and operated an insurance agency at Wausau until returning to Rice Lake in 1960 to become manager of the Chevrolet used car lot. In 1958 he was elected president of the North Central Wisconsin Association of Accident and Health Underwriters. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Rev. James Oliver of Ashland and John of Waukesha; one brother, Roland and two sisters, Mrs. Angie Bradseth and Mrs. Martin Lewis, all of Rice Lake. There are also five grandchildren. A brother, Guy, and a sister, Mrs. Louis Demars preceded him in death.
