Penzkover in Feb. 9, 1989 Spooner Advocate (Spooner, Washburn Co., WI) Henry Penzkover Henry M. Penzkover, age 68, a resident of Spooner, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, at his home. He was born March 13, 1920 near Dobie and was raised in the rural Rice Lake area. He served with the Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. On July 12, 1952 he was united in marriage to Delores Marie Poirier at Chetek. They resided in Spooner. He was employed with Durand Construction. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, and the Dodge-Gilbertson-Carolson VFW Post No. 1028, both of Spooner, and the Carpenters Union Local No. 1074 of Eau Claire. He is survived by his wife, Delores, two daughters, Ann Marie Penzkover, Stone Lake, Nancy Penzkover, Woodruff, three sisters, Ethel Bennett, Wisconsin Rapids, Mary Fields, Cazenovia, Ruth Grant, San Francisco, Calif., one brother, Richard Penzkover, Omaha, Neb. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers. Funeral services were Friday at the Scalzo Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard H. Burzynski officiated. Spring interment will take place in the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Spooner, where military rites will be accorded by the Spooner Veteran Honor Guard. Visitation was Thursday at the funeral home, where a Rosary Service was held.
