Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Mary (McLeod) Penzkover in Wed., Aug. 30, 1978 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Mary Penzkover Funeral services were held Monday from St. Joseph's Catholic church for Mary Penzkover, 88, formerly of Rice Lake, who died Thursday at Wisconsin Rapids following a lengthy illness. Rev. John Spanjers officiated and burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes cemetery at Dobie. Mrs. Penzkover was born in Rice Lake May 4, 1890, the former Mary McLeod, and spent most of her life in this area. She is survived by four sons, Henry of Spooner, Vernon of Wisconsin Rapids, Donald of Milwaukee and Richard of Omaha, Nebr.; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Bennett of Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Ruth Grant of San Francisco and Mrs. Mary Fields of Cazenovia; 28 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Genevieve McLeod of Rice Lake and Mrs. Lucy Markin on Centemoor, Wis. and by a brother, Michael McLeod of Rice Lake.
