Mrs. Bertha Raawe, 85, of Cameron, Rt. 2, died Saturday, August 2, at her home after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 5 at the First Lutheran church in Rice Lake with the Rev. W.W. Doering officiating. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Walter, Harold and Ernest Robarge, Alfred and Harvey Raawe and Kenneth Stilley. Burial was in Meadow Creek cemetery. The Hyllengren Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Raawe was born September 2, 1862 in Germany. She married Carl Raawe in 1888 in Germany. She came to the United States shortly after her marriage and settled with her husband on a farm in the Cameron-Rice Lake community. She was a charter member of the First Lutheran church of Rice Lake which she helped to organize in 1889. She is survived by three sons, Herman, Alvin and Arnold of Cameron; four daughters, Mrs. Minnie Robarge of Rice Lake, Mrs. John Kadleck of Hayward, Mrs. Albert Stilley of Bloomer and Agnes of Cameron; 18 grand children; 16 great-grandchildren. One daughter Martha died in 1929 and her husband in 1936."
