Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Martha Marie Raawe in Wed, Apr 10, 1929 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Martha Marie Raawe Martha Marie Raawe, daughter of Carl and Marie Raawe, was born Dec. 16, 1892, on the homestead of the parents southeast of Rice Lake. Her life was one of quiet service at home, faithfulness towards those around her, parents, brothers, and sisters. Patiently she bore the cross of a weak body and constitution. Her joy was in serving Christ and the service of others. In the terror of Friday evening, April 5th, the Lord called her unto His Kingdom. She was with her mother, who was sick in bed, and her sister, Agnes, when the tornado struck their place. Deceased who was 36 years of age, is survived by her parents; four sisters, Mrs. I. Roberge of Rice Lake, Mrs. Kadlec of Hayward, Mrs. Albert Stilley of Bloomer and Agnes at home, and three brothers, Herman and Alvin of Cameron and Arnold of Rice Lake. The funeral services were held from the Herman Raawe home Tuesday at 12 o'clock and from the First Evangelical Lutheran her at one o'clock. Rev. H.W. Parisius officiated and interment took place at the Meadow Creek cemetery.
