Riedel Gustav F. Riedel of this city was called to his heavenly home Tuesday, March 6, at 4 o'clock at the age of 74 years after about a years illness. He was born in Germany, Aug. 26, 1859 and came to America as a young man. He had lived in this county about 36 years and was the husband of Ernestine Wodtke by whom he is survived together with their 12 children and 15 grandchildren. He was much beloved and admired by all who knew him, a truly great man in the humble walk of life, enduring long suffering as a true Christian. He will be greatly missed by his bereaved family and a wide circle of close friends who never knew him to speak an unkind word, and will never be forgotten. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10 at 2 p.m. at the home and at 2:30 at the German Lutheran church, the Rev. S. Rathke officiating. Out of my bondage, sorrow, and night, Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come; Into Thy freedom, gladness and light, Jesus, I come to Thee. Out of my sickness into Thy health, Into Thy peace and into Thyself Ever Thy glorius face to see, Jesus, I come to Thee. -The Riedel family.
