Rieper (husband of Marcella Robarge) Obituary of Ernest C. Rieper in May 15, 1996 Rice Lake Chronotype "Ernest C. Rieper, 91, of Rice Lake died May 12 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. The funeral service for Mr. Rieper will be Friday at 1 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, with Rev. Karl Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Cumberland. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Jarocki Funeral Home in Rice Lake and Friday at the funeral home from 9-11 a.m. and from noon until the time of the service at the church. Mr. Rieper was born June 5, 1904 to Margaretha and Johannes Rieper in Timasspe, Germany. He grew up there, receiving his education and then working in the lumber mills. In 1930 he immigrated to the United States. He worked in the lumber industry in northern Wisconsin, which included the Rice Lake area. He married Nola Strauch in 1935 in Carter. Mr. Rieper later farmed at the Collingwood Farm between Barron and Cumberland for over 20 years. In 1965 he went to work for the Township of Clinton until his marriage to Marcella Lundquist on Feb. 26, 1969 in Shell Lake. They moved to Rice Lake and acquired rental property. He was a member of the Rice Lake Senior Citizens. Mr. Rieper is survived by his wife, Marcella; six sons, John of Cumberland, Kerry of Rice Lake, Paul of Fond du Lac, Fred of Shell Lake, Ronald of Des Moines, Iowa, and Allen of St. Paul; two daughters, Joyce Green of Rice Lake, and Christine Herget of Shell Lake; 25 grandchildren, 42 great- grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and four stepchildren."
