Submitted by: Kent Robarge 28 September 2003 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Irene (Amans) Ritchie in October 31, 1962 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Mrs. Irene Ritchie Services Held Here Tuesday Morning Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Ritchie, 69, of 307 W. Stout st., Rice Lake, were held Tuesday morning from St. Joseph's Catholic church, with Rev. Arthur Weber officiating, and burial was made in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ritchie died Saturday at a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Ritchie, the daughter of Fred and Isabel (sic) Amans, was born in Rice Lake Sept. 30, 1893, and has spent her entire life here, being married at St. Joseph's church May 20, 1914 to Henry Ritchie. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Gordon and Ralph of Rice Lake and Roger of Milwaukee, and one daughter, Mrs. Doris Smith of Milwaukee, 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. There are also four sisters, Mrs. Fred Mercier and Mrs. John Bungartz of Rice Lake, Mrs. Kenneth Rick of Milwaukee and Mrs. James Burry of Waukegan, and one brother, Harry Amans of Rice Lake.
