Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Clifford Robarge in August 16, 1961 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Clifford Robarge, A&W Proprietor, Services Saturday Funeral services were held Saturday morning for Clifford Robarge, 63, longtime proprietor of the A & W rootbeer stand in Rice Lake, who died Thursday at Fort Snelling after a long illness. Rev. Jerome Trantow conducted services from St. Joseph's Catholic church and burial was made in Nora cemetery. Mr. Robarge was born May 23, 1898 at Portage, Wis., and came to the Rice Lake area as a young man, traveling as a representative of a meat firm through this area before entering retail business. Survivors include his wife, Gladys, a son, John Robarge of Topeka, Kans., and one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Miller of Minot, N. Dak. There are also four grandchildren and two brothers, Raymond of Rice Lake and Alex of Portage.
