Born in the province of Quebec, Canada, in September, 1869, Joe, as he was called, moved to this country with his parents and family when he was only two years old. They settled a homestead east of what is now Rice Lake near the Dobie church, and here he grew up to manhood. After over 17 years residence on the homestead, the family moved into the city, where a few years later Joe was married to Sadie Robarge of the same name, but not related. Mr. Robarge has been ailing and unable to work for two years past. His death came suddenly Thursday evening, July 22. He ate his supper and had started to retire for the night when he fell at the foot of the stairs. When a young man he had worked for the lumbering companies in different camps in the woods and at farm work, and later engaged in the house-moving business and other work in the city. He is survived by his wife and five sons, Fred, Raymond, Elmer, Maynard and Norman. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church Saturday morning, Rev. Fr. A.J. Van Helden officiating, and interment made in St. Joseph's cemetery."
