Lyle Robarge, 66, of 15 W. Gates St., one of the founders and charter members of the Indianhead Stock Car Racing Assn. in Rice Lake, died Saturday at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake with Rev. Allan Schoonover officiating and burial following in Nora Cemetery. Military rites were accorded by the Rice Lake American Legion. Mr. Robarge was born March 6, 1920 in Rice Lake. He later had a stint in the armed services. On June 6, 1942, he married Leona Mathisen at Dobie. He worked as a custodian in the Rice Lake School System for 22 years until retiring in 1982. Besides helping to develop the Indianhead Stock Car Racing Assn., he was a driver at the Rice Lake Speedway and was a past president of the association. He was also a member of the Rice Lake American Legion and Moose Lodge 402 of Rice Lake. He is survived by his wife; one son, Charles of Rice Lake; three grandchildren; and three sisters, Janet Koenig of Cudahy, Mae Ward of Rice Lake and June Thomas of Milwaukee."
