He got up at the usual time to build a fire, and when they went to wake him for breakfast he was dead. Apoplexy is said to have caused his death. The deceased was an old resident of the county having been here some thirty years, coming here from Canada. Was about 64 years of age and was comfortably well off, having a good farm some three miles southeast of town, where he resided with his wife and three children, two girls and a boy, at the time of his death. The funeral was held from St. Joseph's Church Saturday and the body laid to rest in the cemetery south of the city."
