Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Demerise (Amans) Roux in Wed, Dec 30, 1992 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Demerise Roux Demerise Roux, 92, of Rice Lake died Thursday at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Tuesday from St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rice Lake with Rev. Allan Bradley officiating and burial in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery at Dobie. Mrs. Roux was born Jan. 29, 1900 to Louise and Joseph Amans in Rice Lake, where she was raised and educated. On Sept. 17, 1918 she married George Roux, and they farmed in Doyle Township until 1965, when they moved into Rice Lake. Mr. Roux preceded her in death in April 1985. Mrs. Roux was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary in Mikana, St. Joseph's Catholic Council of Women, St. Joseph's Bible Study Group, and was past president of the Altar Society of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie. Survivors include a daughter, Janet Drew and son, Roger, both of Rice Lake; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
