He was born in Rice Lake January 3, 1893, and was 24 years old when he met his death in the service of his country. He was drafted in October, 1917, and was sent to Camp Grant, Rockford, Ill., where he stayed until March, 1918. Then he went to South Carolina and from there to New York from which point he left for France, a country he was fated never to reach. A lonesome mother, a step-father, Mr. Ed Beaudoin; two sisters, Mrs. Pete Lambert and Mrs. Chas. Seraphin; and two brothers, Victor Roux, who is "somewhere in France," and George, who is at home, are among the relatives who mourn his untimely death.
