Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of John Roux in Wed, Sept. 24, 1980 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) John Roux Funeral services were held Monday from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church at Dobie for John L. Roux, 74, of Rt. 4, Rice Lake, who died Friday at Lakeview Medical center. Rev. Eugene Teofilo officiated and burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery at Rice Lake. Mr. Roux was born Oct. 2, 1905, in Rice Lake and lived his entire life in this area. He farmed for many years in the town of Doyle before retiring in 1973. He is survived by two sons, Arthur of Waukegan, Ill. and Glenn of Rice Lake; one daughter, Marilyn Smith of Rice Lake; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three sisters, Leah Larson of St. Paul and Elizabeth Lovo and Grace Nelson, both of Minneapolis. His wife, the former Mary Saffert whom he married Nov. 25, 1929, died in 1972.
