Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Mary (Saffert) Roux in Wed, Jan. 12, 1972 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Mrs. Mary Roux Dies Thursday Funeral services were held Saturday morning from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church at Dobie for Mrs. Mary Roux, 65, who died at Lakeside hospital Thursday afternoon after a lengthy illness. Rev. John Kauer officiated and burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery at Rice Lake. Mrs. Roux was born Jan. 6, 1907 at Sleepy Eye, Minn. and came to this area as a young girl. She had spent 12 years as a clerk at Herbergers before being force to retire due to ill health. She is survived by her husband, John; two sons, Arthur of Waukegan, Ill. and Glen of Rice Lake; one daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Smith of Rice Lake; 14 grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Kimler of Minneapolis, Mrs. Rose Livingston of Rice Lake, Mrs. Hilda Paxton of Fontana, Calif., Mrs. Veronica Bouterac of Milwaukee and Mrs. Agnes Becker of Menomonee Falls and by four brothers, Frank, Louis, Florian and Leonard Saffert, all of Rice Lake.
