Submitted by: Barbara Horn 03 June 2004 ************************************************************************ Barron County News Shield Fri 14 Feb 1919 page 1 col 7 Death of Gilbert Saglen Gilbert Saglen, 75 years old, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Iver Solberg, last Tuesday evening where he had been making his home since last October. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in the Maple Grove cemetery beside his wife, who had died about three years ago. Mr Saglen leaves a family of three sons, Hans, Iver and Oscar, all of whom live near Dallas, and four daughters, Mrs Anton Gunderson of Cameron, Mrs John Nelson and Mrs Bonkrud of Dallas, and Mrs Iver Solberg of Barron, besides thirty-three grandchildren. Barron Co Shield 19 Nov 1915 South Maple Grove Gilbert Saglien left for Eau Claire Tuesday where he expects to undergo an operation if his condition permits.
