Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Benedict Schramski, Sr. in Oct. 7, 1992 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI) Benedict Schramski, Sr. Benedict M. Schramski St., 84, of Turtle Lake, died Thursday at Cumberland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Turtle Lake with Rev. William Cary officiating and burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Schramski was born Jan. 21, 1908 in Beaver Township, Polk County, to Clara and Martin Schramski. He attended Turtle Lake schools through the 10th grade. In 1929, he married Mabel Reetz and they worked the family farm for 7 years before moving to Turtle Lake in 1936. He operated several milk trucks and school buses until 1948, then he returned to farming. Mr. Schramski retired from farming in 1967 and moved back to Turtle Lake. Mr. Schramski served on the Village Board for 19 years. He is survived by his wife, Mabel; two sons; Roger and Ben Jr., both of Clayton; three daughters, Eunice Fouks of Stillwater, Donna Klatt and Patricia Tarman, both of Turtle Lake; a brother, Tom of Balsam Lake; 20 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
