She was born Aug. 18, 1917, in Plainview, Minn., to George and Charlotte (Hilton) Timm. She married Lloyd Severud on June 7, 1941 in Gordon. Dorothy was a teacher and taught in the Ridgeland and Chetek School Districts. She was also a homemaker and with her husband, raised four boys. She loved to read, enjoyed table games, crossword puzzles and listening to baseball games on the radio, especially the Milwaukee Brewers. She was a marvelous knitter and did beautiful needle work, which she gave to family and friends. She loved to bake and was a terrific cook. In the past, she was very active in Chetek United Methodist Church activities. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd of Chetek; she raised four boys, Todd (Phyllis) Severud of Rice Lake, Timm Severud of Winter, Timothy (Lori) Timm of Woodland Park, Colo., and Rick (Amporn) Timm of Saudi Arabia; one grandson, Craig Severud of Rice Lake; two sisters, Madonna (Bill) Hanf of Rochester, Minn., and Virginia (Byron) Steele of Tulsa, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Lenore Kay; and two brothers, Warren and Franklin.
