This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Nance Sampson 12 February 1999 ==================================================================== David SHIELDS Funeral services were held Friday afternoon for David SHIELDS, 75, whose death occurred at his home on Seventh street Wednesday (18 March 1942), following a stroke. Services were conducted by the Rev. Shields of Rice Lake, and interment was in Wayside Cemetery. David SHIELDS was born in Ontario, Can., Feb. 9, 1867, where he grew to manhood. Later he came to Wisconsin and located on the farm in the town of Clinton, Barron county. About two years ago he disposed of his farming interests to his son David SHIELDS, Jr., and moved to Barron. Mr. SHIELDS is survived by his widow, five sons and two daughters; Harold of New Jersey, Ray of Madison, Wis., Gordon, of Soldiers Grove, Wis., David Jr., on the home farm in the town of Clinton, and Edward, whos present address could not be learned.
