This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Nance Sampson 17 February 1999 ==================================================================== SMAZEMKA, Thomas Thomas Smazemka, 72 years old, of the Haugen vicinity, died at a hospital in Rice Lake from injuries received when struck by a car driven by Warren Dennison of Chicago. He suffered a fractured skull, both legs broken and other injuries. The accident happened on the hill on Barron County B, just a short distance east of Haugen. Mr. Smazemka had trouble with his car on the highway and was standing behind the open door of his auto when the car driven by the Chicagoan pinned him against the body of the car. The car driven by Dennison was not going more than 10 miles an hour. Neither car was damaged. Harry Wackerly and George Marsh, both of Chicago were riding with Mr. Dennison.
