Submitted by: Barbara Horn 03 June 2004 ************************************************************************ Barron Co News Shield, Barron, WI - Thursday 24 Apr 1958 page 3 col 8 - obituary Mrs Evelyn Severude Mrs Evelyn Severude, 56, of Dallas, died Saturday, April 19, at Lakeside hospital in Rice Lake. The daughter of Elling and Ruth Johnson, she was born Aug 3, 1901 at Dallas, and was married June 8, 1925 to Albin Severude at Minneapolis. She lived in the Dallas area all of her life. Mrs Severude was a rural school teacher for six years and a telephone operator at the Dallas exchange for 10 years, retiring two years ago because of poor health. She was a member of the Dallas Lutheran church, the Ladies Aid and Hope Mission Circle of the church. Surviving are her husband and mother, Mrs Ruth Johnson, of Dallas; four daughters, Ruth Elaine, Mrs George Sanderson of Princeton, KY, Jean Severdue of Dallas, Carol, Mrs Kenneth Gehler of Bloomer and Avis, Mrs Wallace Carlson of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Elmer Johnson of Elk Mound, Raymond Johnson of Pittsville, Elwood Johnson of Prairie Lake and Harold Johnson of Dallas, and two sisters, Amy, Mrs Halbert Hanson of Rollette, ND, and Irene, Mrs Sheldon Berg of Hoyt Lakes, Minn. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 23, at the Dallas Lutheran church, with Rev Duane Bottjen officating. Burial was in Nye Scandinavia church cemetery in the town of Maple Grove, with Miller Funeral Home of Dallas in charge. The pallbearers were Eugene Berg, Evan Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Ernest Johnson, Norman Johnson and Jack Johnson. In 1945, until close to the time of her death, she worked as a telephone operator at Dallas.
