Submitted by: Kent Robarge 03 August 2007 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Ben Weed in Wed, May 5, 1982 Rice Lake Chronotype (Rice Lake, Barron County, WI) Ben Weed Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from Firth Lutheran church of Rice Lake for Ben Weed, 78, of 423 Hatten av., Rice Lake, who died Saturday at Lakeview medical center. Rev. Martin Rose officiated at the services, and burial was made in Orchard Beach cemetery. Mr. Weed, born Feb. 5, 1904, at Fond du Lac, married Agnes Robarge May 30, 1924, at Rice Lake. He farmed in the Town of Stanley, and later in the Towns of Rice Lake and Stanfold. For a number of years he was employed with Mascott Foods and also with the Rice Lake parks and recreation department. Surviving him are two sons, Jerry of Rice Lake and Byron of Fond du Lac; two daughters, Beverly Buckner of Cameron and Lois Anderson of Rice Lake; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elva Steinbar of Fond du Lac. His wife, Agnes, died in 1979
