Whitney (husband of Victoria Robarge) Stanwood News Thursday, Feb 12, 1970 (Stanwood, Snohomish County, WA) "Former resident of Mount Vernon, Floyd J. Whitney, passed away February 4 at the age of 82 at the Island Hospital. Born in New Auburn, Wisconsin December 15, 1887, he was married August 20, 1906 to Victoria Robarge at Dobie, Wisconsin. The couple lived in Wisconsin until 1941, when they came to Washington. A plumber by trade, Mr. Whitney was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where Mass was held Saturday morning, February 7. Rosary was recited Friday night at Kern Funeral Chapel; burial was in Hawthorne Lawn. He is survived by five sons - Elmer and Henry of Stanwood; Clarence of Eveleth, MN; John of Burlington [WA] and DeWayne of Anacortes [WA]; four daughters, Mrs. Wallace Coleman of Bruce, WI, Mrs. Emery Coleman of Cameron, WI, Mrs Warren Avery of Mount Vernon [WA] and Mrs. Phil Parent of Anacortes [WA]. There are 29 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Two brothers, George of Riverside, CA and Howard of Rice Lake, WI also survive him."
