Whitney, 73, a resident of 506 N. Wall St., Mount Vernon died yesterday in a Mount Vernon hospital. She was born in Dobie, Wisconsin March 6, 1890, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Robarge. She was united in marriage in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to Floyd J. Whitney August 20, 1907. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding here in 1957. In 1941 the couple came to Washington settling in Anacortes and lived there until 1947 when they moved to Mount Vernon where they have resided since. She was a member of the Summit Park Grange. Survivors are her husband, Floyd at the family home; five sons, Clarence of Minnesota, Elmer and Henry of Stanwood, DeWayne of Anacortes and John of Mt. Vernon; four daughters, Mrs. Marie Coleman and Mrs. Dorothy Coleman, both of Wisconsin, Mrs. Lucille Avery of LaConner, and Mrs. Loraine Parent of Anacortes; one brother, Adolph Robarge of Wisconsin, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Forrest of Anacortes and Mrs. Irene Degidio of Minnesota; 28 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A daughter Gertrude preceded her in death in 1947. Rosary will be held in the Kern Funeral Chapel, Mt. Vernon at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10th with the Rev. Father Hartnett officiating. Mass will be said in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Mount Vernon at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11 with the Rev. Father Schmidt officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow in the family plot at the Hawthorne Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery."
