ALFRED W. WISTROM Funeral services were held on Sunday for Alfred Walford Wistrom, 79, at the Methodist Church in Cumberland with Rev. Arvid Morey officiating. Cotone Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He was born on January 24, 1880 in Sweden and came to the United States in 1886 and settled with his family at Newman Grove, Nebraska. He moved to Almena at the age of 24 where he purchased a farm west of the village. He served as a member of the town board of the Town of Almena and was treasurer of the Midway School for several years. He was an active member of the Modern Woodmen Fraternal organization for 52 years. Mr. Wistrom was married to Annie Beecroft and they had one son, Clarence, who lives at Spooner. Survivors include his wife, son, and two grandsons. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Turtle Lake. Pall-bearers were Carl Ernst, Isador Kuhn, Irvin Pearson, Nick Feidt, Alfred Sandberg, and Adolph Shepps. Alternate was Theodore Torgerson
