"PeeNee" Mary E. "PeeNee" Glim(e), 57, Green Bay, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2000, after a year long courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in Green Bay, April 3, 1942, she is the daughter of the late Willard and Marie (Derepkowski) Saunders. On May 16, 1960, she married Garry Glime, resulting in 18 years of marriage and four children. Mary graduated from East High School and attended St. Norbert College. She was a longtime member of Holy Martyrs of Gorcum Church. Mary was very involved with the patients of Brown County Mental Health Center where she was employed as a Volunteer Coordinator for almost 20 years until her illness forced her into early retirement. She was also employed part-time at Wal-Mart East in the fabrics department. Mary truly enjoyed working at Wal-Mart and helping customers with their special projects. Although it was a very hard decision, she resigned from Wal-Mart to begin her next project, the remodeling of her father's home after his death on April 3, 1997. There wasn't a day that went by that Mary didn't talk about what wall she was going to tear down or what window she was going to put in. Mary's love of people and life showed in everything she did; whether it be painting, gardening, sewing, cooking, working, volunteering, remodeling or mothering. She is survived by her three sons, Garry (Joe) Glime, Jr. and special friend, Deb Poupore, Dick Glim, Mike Glime, all of Green Bay; one daughter, Michelle and fiance Greg Shavlik and his children, Connor and Ryan Shavlik, Seymour; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Wanda Saunders, Green Bay. One of Mary's many dreams was to be a grandmother. This wish came true with the arrival of Marcus Grant Shavlik to Michelle and Greg on January 4 of this year. Marcus Grant brought much love and joy to Mary's final days; one stepdaughter, Susan Behnke, California; nieces and nephews, Amy Geyso, Wrightstown; Julie (Geyso) and Ken Rogers, Little Chute; Rick Geyso, Wrightstown; Lea Geyso, Green Bay; Dawn Saunders, Wrightstown; and Sheri Saunders, Green Bay; special friend, Janice "Maude" Schumacher, Green Bay. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tom. Friends may call at MALCORE Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird St., from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and prior to the funeral on Thursday. Parish Wake Service 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Thursday visitation will continue at the funeral home prior to the funeral in church. Funeral Thursday 10:30 a.m. at Holy Martyrs of Gorcum Church with the Rev. Robert E. Rhyner officiating. Mary's children would like to extend a special thank you to Gen Giese, Anne Stankewicz, Candy Krause and her many friends at Brown County Mental Health Center. Your kindness, support and love will never be forgotten. They would also like to thank 9th floor nursing staff of St. Vincent's Hospital for their care and concern.
