WM. THIEM FUNERAL HELD LAST SATURDAY
LARK, Wis. -- Wm. O. Thiem, a resident of this town for the past 29 years,
died at his home Monday, April 5, at 12:30 a.m. after only a few days
illness, death being due to heart failure. Mr. Thiem was married in the
year 1901 to Margaret Enz, now surviving widow. This union was blest with
two children, Elna and Eugene. The former, Mrs. Elna Saenger, preceded
the father in death twelve years ago. The son, Eugene survives. Living
in this community for such a length of time he made many friends who keenly
feel the loss of such a friend. Mr. Thiem reached the age of 64 years.
funeral services for deceased were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from
the home and at 2:00 o'clock from the Evangelical church. Rev. H.P. Jordan
conducted the services, assisted by Rev. Doran of Denmark. The nephews
of the deceased were the pallbearers namely: Aaron Schelter, Ira Nickel,
Walter Thiem, Wlater Enz, Alvin Enz and Lester Enz. The male quartet consisting
of Edward and Williboard Bruegge and Wilmer Thiele and Ellsworth Kuchenbecker
sang "in the Land When We'll Never Grow Old," and "Going
Down the Valley, One by One" The funeral services were largely attended.
the remains were laid to rest in the family lot in the Evangelical cemetery.
The deceased leaves to mourn his widow and son Eugene, one grandson, one
sister, Mrs. Rupp of Ocean Springs, Miss., two brothers, Walter of Oshkosh,
and Rudolph of the town of Rockland, besides many other relatives and friends.
