Mrs. Toonen, 98 Dies This Morning

De Pere- Mrs. Catherine Toonen, 98, widow of Peter Toonen, believed to
be the oldest woman of this city died at 2 o'clock this morning at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Christine Timmers, Green Bay, with whom she
had resided recently. Mrs. Toonen had spent most of her life in this city.

The body will be at Coffey funeral home until the funeral Friday.Requiem
mass will be celebrated at 9 o'clock in St Marys church and burial will
be at Mt Olivet cemetery. The rosary will be said at 8 o'clock tonight
and thursday night. Mrs. Toonen was a member of the parish Alter society.

Mrs. Toonen, who was born in Holland Feburary 15, 1845 had been a resident
of De Pere since childhood. She is survived by four sons, John and Albert
De Pere; Anthony and Christ, Green Bay; three daughters Mrs. Timmers,
Mrs Henry Heyerman, Mrs Edward Wolf, Menasha; 32 grandchildren and 39 great
grandchildren.
