He was a native of Switzerland, but came to America when 8 years of age, making Wabasha his home, for most of the time since. In 1882 he was married at Alma, Wis., to Miss Mary Kurth. A few years ago his mind became affected and he became an inmate of the asylum. A couple of years ago he was released, having recovered to a great extent, but a recurrence of his mental trouble, last summer, made his return to Rochester necessary. He is survived by his wife and two children. The remains will be brought to this city and the funeral held under the direction of Teutonia Lodge, I.O.O.F., of which he was a member. Deceased was an industrious and upright man. He was held in high esteem by all who knew him, and had it not been for the affliction which befell him, a long, happy and useful life lay before him. His afflicted family have the sympathy of all. ***
