Buffalo Co., Wisconsin OBIT: Roscoe Maynard McQuiston SUBJECT: Roscoe Maynard McQuiston SUBMITTER: Bill Acheson EMAIL: achesonb@nonspam.home.com DATE: Nov 14, 1999 SURNAMES: McQuiston While other homes are filled with merriment and happiness during the Christmas season the home of Mr. and Mrs. Morris McQuiston is saddened by the loss of a son who passed away Monday morning, Dec. 23, at 6:30 a. m. Roscoe Maynard McQuiston was born Feb. 6, 1912, at Blue Earth, Faribault Co., Minn. He resided with his parents at Blue Earth up to about thirteen years ago when the family moved to their home south of this city. He attended the public school here. During this time he had the misfortune of losing an eye thru an explosion and with this handicap to contend with he quit school after he finished the grammer school. For the past two years he worked out part of the time on farms and on the section. Some time ago he submitted to an appendix operation. The past few weeks he complained of a pain in his side. A week ago Sunday he became seriously ill with the winter flu which caused his death. Roscoe was a well-behaved, industrious boy, thoughtful of the needs of the family, and unselfishly gave his earnings toward the support of the family. This makes his untimely death doubly hard for his parents and his brothers and sisters, The McQuiston family have the most sincere sympathy of their friends in their affliction. Beside his sorrowing parents he leaves surviving him two brothers and four sisters, namely: Claude, La Crosse, and Ralph Elwood, Edna Margaret, Doreen Nora, Doris Wilma and Eileen Una, all at home. The funeral is being held today, Thursday, at 2 p. m. from the Stohr Undertaking Parlors to the Evangelical church, Rev. W. G. Schultz officiating. ---------------------------- The Buffalo County Journal Alma, Wisconsin December 26th, 1929 ----------------------------------------------------- USGENWEB ARCHIVES NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities as long as this message remains on all copied material.
