Lundquist 17 May 2000 ==================================================================== Many of my ancestors are buried in this cemetery. Among them are my grandparents, Charles and Anna (Flom) Norris; his father, Daniel Newton Norris, and his mother, Songe Kishing Go-Quay. She was of Ojibway (Chippewa) ancestry and many of her siblings and their families are believed buried there also. (The name Songe Kishing Go-Quay is Chippewa language and Quay means woman. It translates into "Strong Skies Woman.") Charles Wesley Norris, brother of Daniel Newton Norris, is buried there as well as his son, Walter Norris, and his first wife, Lucy, and some of his family. Charles Wesley Norris was a Civil War veteran. Roland Winslow "Duck" Deering is believed to be the first person buried in this cemetery. He had come with his family from Pennsylvania and was a surveyor. Charles "Manny" Norris is believed to be the last person buried in this cemetery.
