Doyle were grieved to hear of his death last Thursday from complications following pneumonia after an illness of twelve days. Mr. Doyle was born May 10, 1850, in Trumbull county, Ohio, and remmoved with his parents to a farm home at Chilton, Wis., when he was four years of age. He was married at that place on May 10, 1881, to Miss Mary Quinn, and they came to Rice Lake in October 1884 and settled on a farm in the present town of Doyle, named after him, where he resided until his death on Jan. 5, 1922, at the age of 71 years, 7 months, and 25 days. Nine children were born to this union, three of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife and six children: James, William, John, Joseph, and Anna at home, and Mary, a nurse from Milwaukee who cared for him during his illness; also a twin sister, Mrs. John Leahy of Chilton; and two brothers, Dr. J. H. Doyle of Little Chute, and Ed Doyle of South Dakota. Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Lourdes church of Dobie on Monday, January 9, the Rev. E. E. Savageau officiating. Relatives from away to attend the funeral were Dr. and Mrs. J. H. Doyle of Little Chute, L. Neal Leahy of Chilton, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bradley of Stone Lake, Miss Mary Kennedy of Trego, Celia Kennedy of Spooner, and Katherine Kennedy of Birchwood. Mr. Doyle was a big-hearted man of energy, and had a large part in the development of the town which is named after him. To know him was to be his friend, and a wide circle of acquaintances made since the pioneer days mourn his departure from this life and sympathize with the bereaved in their great loss. ----------------------------------------------------- USGENWEB ARCHIVES NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities as long as this message remains on all copied material.
