LOUISA RAETHER was born in Milwaukee, May 20, 1851, and died on the farm near Humbird June 18, 1916. Nov. 26, 1870, she was united in marriage to Mr. Leander (Leonidas) Phillips at Oconomowoc. To them were born nine childrem, five sons, and four daughters: Geo., Ernest, Clarence and Chas., of Humbird, and Wm., of Eau Claire, Mrs. Ella Harrien of Neillsville, Mrs. Della Jungham, of Ft. Atkinson. Mrs. Phillips has lived for the past forty years in Clark county and most of the time within the vicinity of Humbird. Being the mother of nine children in the very nature of life, she has lived a strenuous life. She has been an industrious woman and devoted wife and mother, and enjoyed the respect and goodwill of her neighbors. She was sick only a few days before her death. Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband and children, also by five brothers and three sisters. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church by pastor, Rev. at 2:00 o'clock, and the burial was made in the Mentor cemetery.
