Portage Democrat, Sept 3, 1903
Mrs. Marinda Coapman died suddenly yesterday afternoon at the family home in 
the town of Pacific. The cause of death was a severe attack of bronchitis, an 
illness she has had for some years. She was born Oct. 27, 1838 in Cattaraugus 
County, New York, and came to Columbia County with her parents in 1856. Her 
father was the late Joshua Calkins, a grandfather of A.J. Calkins of Portage. 
She married Anson Calkins Coapman in Pacific on December 31, 1857. He died 
January 10, 1895. Survived by two children - one son, Fred Coapman of Pacific, 
and one daughter, Mrs. James Older of Portage. Interment will be in Pacific 
cemetery.
