His siblings were: Ann, Michael, Bridget, John Edward and Mary E. William married Margaret O'Brien in Ireland. The young couple emigrated to New York before or early 1850. Found in the 1850 census living at Mamaroneck, Westchester, New York, William's occupation, laborer: Willim Dargin 27; Margaret Dargin 29 (wife); John Dargin 51 (brother); Catharine Dargin 54 (sister in law); John Dargin 10 (nephew). William and Margaret had 4 children who were all born at New York: John Brady (born March 29, 1850, died August 30, 1937 Wisconsin); Claire Agnes (born 1853); William Edward (born abt 1856, died March 18, 1880 Columbia, WI) and Mary Ann (born abt 1857/59). William was a farmer. Found in the 1880 census living at Fountain Prairie, Columbia, Wisconsin: William Dargin 59, Margaret Dargin 60, John B. Dargin 29, C. Agnes Dargin 27, Mary Ann Dargin 21. William Edward Dargan Sr died March 31, 1896 at Columbus, Columbia, Wisconsin and is buried at the St Jerome's Cemetery there. A photo of him and his gravesite is at Find a Grave Memorial #65960657.
