Portage Newspaper (Portage, Columbia, Wisconsin), 3 April 1905
DEATHS - M. DeWitte Older passed away Sunday afternoon after a lingering 
illness. Mr. Older suffered from asthma for many years. 
The son of Amos and Ann Older was born at Farmersville, Cattaraugus Co., New 
York, on December 20, 1831. The Older family came to Wisconsin in 1838 and 
settled in Darien in Walworth county.  He enlisted in company H, 5th W.V.I., 
on August 23, 1864 and was mustered out of service June 20, 1865. After the 
war he returned to Wisconsin, and was married to Elizabeth A. Clark, daughter 
of James B. and Jane Clark, at Nevada, Martin County, Minnesota, on April 26, 
1859. He is survive by Mrs Older and five children - Mrs. Robert Buglass, 
Clark, James A. and Dr. Bertram Older all of Portage, and Clifford Older, a 
civil engineer of Slater, Missouri.
