Obituary: Columbia County, Wisconsin: Lena SENGER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Mrs. Lena Senger died at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Drew, on West Carroll Street, Sunday morning at 4 o'clock of consumption. Mrs. Senger was a great sufferer, her illness extends over a period of four years, and her condition has been serious for many months. All that medical aid and tender care could do was done but the progress of the disease could not be checked. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her and her friends are many. She was born in Portsmouth, England December 31, 1850, and came to America with her parents in June, 1859, coming from Quebec, Canada, a short time after their arrival to Portage, and she has resided here continuously ever since. She leaves four children, Fred of Sandusky, Ohio, Rex, of Beloit, Herman and Mame at home. Besides her parents, three sisters, Mrs. J. B. Hubbard, Mrs. James Theobald of Beloit; Mrs. C. A. Winn of this city, and one brother, William Drew of this city survive. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late residence; Rev. W. O. Nuzum will officiate.
