Peter Hooverson Some mention should be made of Peter Hooverson, although we have very little definite information about him. We do know that he was a partner with Atley Peterson in the saw mill business; that he enlisted with the Union Forces in the Civil War. Also that he contracted a serious illness during his war service which caused his death shortly after his return to Soldiers Grove. He built the large square two story house in the rear of the Dug Out Cafe and his family continued to occupy the home for many years after his death. His wife and three daughters removed from Soldiers Grove about 1896 or 1898.
