At ten he began the trade of tailoring, which he continued with his brother until 1869, when he came to Wisconsin. In 1854 he married Miss Jane Dame. After staying fifteen months in Mineral Point he came to Mazomanie and has since resided here. The children are: Charles, Hugh, Bertha, Walter, and Salina, wife of William Conover, in Minneapolis; Arthur L. and Edwin H., in Madison.
