He came to Gorstville in 1845, and six years later bought his present farm. In 1852 he married Prudence Copley. They have eight children: Dr. Charles Gorst in Baraboo. Wis.; Wm. Gorst, presiding elder of the M. E. church at Neligh, Neb.; Robert N., at Trout Lake, Mich; Drusilla, wife of Chas Orcutt, in Nebraska: George, on the farm; Sarah, wife of B. C.
