Obituary: Dane County, Wisconsin: Ida M. BENNETT ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Mrs. Ida M. Bennett nee Hough was born in the state of New York, Oct. 27, 1851, her parents moving to Wisconsin soon after. In 1872 she was married to R. C. Bennett, who with two little girls yet survive her. They have made their home most of the time at the old farm near Oak Hall. During the past few years her health has been gradually failing, so in Nov. last they rented the farm and came to reside in town where the deceased would be relieved of many of the duties a farmer's wife is subject to. During the winter her health seemed to be improving. Two weeks ago she was taken with what they supposed to be nothing but a severe cold and her symptoms were not considered dangerous until Saturday when she rapidly grew worse, and despite all medical aid Monday evening Apr. 5th, at 6 o'clock her spirit took its flight to the "beautiful beyond" from whence none ever return. She was a devout, pious christian, and one who will be greatly missed, as she was loved by all. Oregon Observer. April 23, 1886, Evansville Review, p. 3, col. 4, Evansville, Wisconsin
