Fisher, 82, for 75 years a resident of this state and known everywhere as "the walking encyclopedia," because of his phenomenal ability to answer questions, died at his home in Oregon at 4:45 a.m. Sunday. He was born Feb. 17, 1842, and was a resident of Cross Plains and Oregon for 72 years. He was in his usual good health up to Saturday when he suffered a stroke from which he never recovered. Surviving are three sons, B. C. and W. R. Fisher of the Fisher cigar stores, Madison, Ed. Fisher, who lives on the old homestead farm near Oregon, and one daughter, Mrs. John Cusick, living at the home in Oregon. Burial was held at the Catholic cemetery in Oregon at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. February 7, 1924, p. 1, col. 4, Evansville, Wisconsin
