Robert Gillies of Brooklyn, who has been sick, for several weeks with
pneumonia, died at a Chicago hospital Monday, the remains being brought
home Tuesday. 

The funeral will take place at 2:00 this afternoon at the Methodist church,
being conducted by the Rev. Beavin.

The deceased was quite a prominent man in his community, being a director
in the Brooklyn bank and ever taking an interest in public affairs.

Mr. Gillies was a cousin to William and Games Gillies and the Misses Maggie
and Elizabeth Gillies, of this city, and a brother to J. H. Gillies, of
Glen Flora, Wis., who is here to attend his brother's funeral.
