Obituary: Dane County, Wisconsin: Charles HARRINGTON ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Stoughton, Wis., March 12 -- Charles Harrington, while hunting down the river yesterday with a companion, proposed to play a trick on some smaller boys by locking them up in a boat house. He succeeded and while waiting for developments one of the boys inside, Henry Johnson, in order to get out, and not being aware that Harrington was at the door, took his shotgun and shot through the door in order to break the lock. The charge, together with the door latch and splinters entered Harrington's side and penetrated his lungs. He was taken to a neighboring house and died this morning. Johnson is nearly crazed over the affair. No arrest has been made. March 18, 1892, Enterprise, p. 4, col. 3, Evansville, Wisconsin
