Haynes Mina E. Baldwin was born August 11, 1863, in the town of Oregon, and died in Wesley hospital, Chicago, September 5, 1912. Her childhood was spent on the farm two miles north of Brooklyn where the family lived for so many years. She attended the Evansville high school, graduating in the class of 1884. She taught school very succesfully for five years. On May first, 1889, she was married to Palmer A. Haynes of Cooksville. Since then they have resided in the village of Brooklyn. Mrs. Haynes was affiliated with three women's organizations--Royal Neighbors, Woman's Twentieth Century Club, and the W.C.T.U. She was devoted to her family and friends. She looked well to the ways of her household, yet was vitally interested in affairs outside. Those left to mourn her loss are the husband, P. A. Haynes, the daughter, Beth, her father Julius Baldwin, one sister, Daisy of Brooklyn and four brothers, Lloyd Baldwin of Belleville, Charles of Madison, and Clint and Boyd of Brooklyn. The funeral was held at the home Sunday afternoon, and was in charge of D. Quincy Grabill. There were many beautiful floral offerings, brought by the scores of life long frineds. The burial was in the Brooklyn cemetery. September 12, 1912, Evansville Review, p.4, col. 2, Evansville, Wisconsin
