LARSEN Mrs. Caroline Larsen, who has been ill for the past several months, quietly passed away at her home in this city at about six o'clock Sunday evening, July 15, 1917, at the age of seventy-three years. Mrs. Larsen, whose maiden name was Caroline Fredricksen, was born at Langeland, Denmark, on August 31, 1844. She married in the old country and in 1886, in company with her husband, came to American and settled near Fulton, where they resided for four years, after which time they moved to Rutland. They resided on a farm in this town for a period of thirty-nine years, when failing health compelled them to give up their vocation and they removed to Oregon, Wis., where Mr. Larsen died in 1912. In October, 1913, Mrs. Larsen came to this city to reside and has since made her home here. The last few years of her life have been marked by failing health and her last illness was one of long duration. Mrs. Larsen was an unpretentious woman whose life has been spent in quiet and unassuming manner. She was a woman who was loved best by those who knew her best. She is survived by four daughters, as follows: Mrs. John Anderson, Mrs. Andrew Christensen and Mrs. Paul Nelson, of Oregon, Wis., and Mrs. Chris Hendricksen, of this city. She is also survived by a brother and a sister, who reside at Tyler, Minn; also nine grandchildren. The funeral will be held at one o'clock Thursday afternoon from her late home, and at 2:30 o'clock from the Lutheran church at Rutland, the Rev. Mr. Hajja officiating. Interment will be made in the Graves cemetery at Rutland. July 19, 1917, Evansville Review, p. 1, col. 6, Evansville, Wisconsin
