Obituary: Dane County, Wisconsin: William Allyn RICHARDS ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ OBITUARY WILLIAM ALLYN RICHARDS William Allyn Richards passed away in a Madison hospital July 12, from blood poisoning incurred about two weeks ago. Mr. Richards was born in Platteville, Wis., and grew to manhood in that city. He attended the Plateeville Normal and the University of Wisconsin, from which he graduated with the class of 1899. He was engaged in educational work and entered into war work in 1918. Was ordered to Walter Reed Hospital, and later transferred to Fort Sheridan, Ill. The past three years he has been with the United States Veteran's Bureau, the past two years in the Madison office. On July 25, 1913, he was married to Della B. Burk, daughter of William Burk, formerly of Evansville. He is survived by his wife and eight-year-old daughter Virginia. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 15, from the Fitch Parlors, Rev. Henry Lewis, of Westminister church, officiating. Masonic services were conducted at the grave. Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Madison.
