Sarah Jane, daughter of John and Olvira Pierce, was born March 6th 1838, in
the town of Lime, Loraine county, New York. In 1841 her parents came to
Wisconsin and settled in Rock county near Janesville. In 1844 they moved to
the township of Oregon. On August 5, 1896, she was married to Stuart
Shampnor and went to housekeeping in Oregon where she lived until she
passed to the Great Beyond on October 2, 1921.
