At the age of 6 years she moved to Evansville with her parents, where she spent the most of her life; until her mother died in 1908 when she moved to Brooklyn to make her home with her brother Virgil. On Nov. 1st 1912 she was married to Robert Smith of Brooklyn. About a year ago she submitted to an operation and since then her health has gradually failed until April 1st when she began to fail rapidly and death came Sunday morning, September 7, 1924 at 9:00 o'clock. During all her illness no one ever heard her complain. She was cheerful to the end. She was a member of the W. C. T. U. and the Ladies Aid of the M. E. church, a willing and faithful worker in both societies. She leaves besides her husband, two brothers, Virgil of Brooklyn and Walter of Delavan, to mourn her loss. The funeral was held from the home and the church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E. D. Upson, Madison; who performed her marriage ceremony to Mr. Smith in 1912.
